Karns City, North Clarion Baseball Get Wins

BUTLER, Pa. (D9Sports) — Winning pitcher Tyler Yough was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored to help Karns City to an 8-3 win over Cranberry, who acted as the home team at Kelly Automotive Park in Butler.

Stephen O’Donnell, Markus Lantz and Cullen Williams each had two hits for the Gremlins.

Williams was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, O’Donnell was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI and Lantz was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Andrew Gunn was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored to pace Cranberry. Shay Harry added a 2-for-3 day with a run scored.

Yough went the distance allowing three unearned runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four.

Nolan Brannon took the loss allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits and four walks while striking out three in three innings of work.

Karns City led 3-0 until the sixth when it scored five times off of Gunn, who pitched three innings allowing the five runs on six hits with a strikeout.

All three of Cranberry’s runs came in the bottom of the seventh.

NORTH CLARION 17, UNION 11

RIMERSBURG, Pa. — Logan Minich was 4-for-6 with a double, six RBIs and two runs scored to help North Clarion to a 17-11 win over Union in Rimersburg.

Zander Hargenrader, Noah Meyers and Sam Minich each added a pair of hits with Sam Minich going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, Meyers 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored and an RBI and Hargenrader finishing 2-for-5 with two runs scored.

Matson Higgins added a 1-for-3 day with three run scored and an RBI and Korey Mills was 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

Logan Weaver got the win.

North Clarion led 11-1 going to bottom of the fifth but Union scored nine times in the inning to keep the game alive with 15 batters going to the plate.

Dana Logue was 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Golden Knights.
