Venango County Teen Killed, Three Injured in One-Car Crash

VENANGO CO. Pa. (EYT) — A 16-year-old Rouseville male was killed early this morning in a one-car crash that occurred on Union Street, north of Cornplanter Hill Road, in Cornplanter Township, Venango County.

According to police, around 1:17 a.m., 18-year-old Austin M. Clever, of Rouseville, was traveling south on Union Street when he lost control of his 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier.

The car traveled into a ditch located east of Union Street, and the driver’s side front bumper area had initial impact with the ditch. The car continued to travel south in the ditch and the driver’s side roof had a second impact with a tree that stuck out from the embankment above the ditch. The second impact caused the driver’s side of the roof to be crushed into the driver’s seat and rear seat area. The car came to a final rest facing south in the ditch.

A 16-year-old male passenger, of Rouseville — who was in the driver’s side rear seat — was fatally injured as a result of the crash.

Clever suffered suspected minor injuries. He was using a seat belt.

A 15-year-old Oil City male passenger in Clever’s vehicle suffered suspected serious injuries. He was not using a seat belt.

A 17-year-old Oil City male passenger suffered suspected minor injuries. It is unknown whether he was using a seat belt.

Community Ambulance Service transported the occupants of the vehicle to UPMC Northwest.

According to police, the crash involved DUI.
