Patricia Grace (Kunkle) Rehberg

Patricia Grace (Kunkle) Rehberg passed away suddenly early on May 3rd after an extended illness.

She was the Eldest daughter of Clifford Paul Kunkle and Jane Marie McAnulty Kunkle, both now deceased. Patty’s true love of her life was her daughter Stephanie.

Patty was born 06/13/1940 in Bedford County Pennsylvania at home.

After high school Patty joined the U. S. Women’s Army Corp in Ft. McClennan Alabama.

She worked in Atlantic City NJ and New York City NY until she finally settled with her daughter in Oil City PA. She was a life-long student taking classes to gain new skills.

Although Patty was never well off financially she knew that she was rich in the love of her daughter and the Lord.

She loved to hike with Stephanie along the many rivers and hills of the PA State parks, take bicycle tours along the Oil Creek Bike Trail, enjoying the many animals, trees and especially the fireflies on a warm summer day.

Patty’s fondness for animals was evident in the many cats that she rescued, loved and housed over her life. This love of animals, especially cats, was listed as a significant personality trait in her high school yearbook. When she could she nursed them to health and provided homes for them even though her means were small.

When Stephanie told her about her project through the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, “A Brush With Kindness” fencing project to unchain dogs (see link below), Patty was excited to know her own compassion for animals was passed on to her daughter.

She was a talented artist, a fierce friend, a quiet contemplative and a loving mother. Her love of God and her relationship with Jesus Christ kept her strong even though her body failed her.

Patty is survived by her daughter Stephanie Grace Kunkle-Timko and her son-in-law Thomas Andrew Timko. She is survived by her sister Linda Kunkle Roden as well as many nieces and nephews, Rebecca Roden Porter and James Porter , Guy Roden and Christal Roden, Kimberly Kunkle Johns, Cassandra Kunkle Motter and Andrew Motter and grand nephews and nieces William and Thomas Porter, Shale and Lauren Roden and Ryker and Cohen Motter. She was so blessed to have as good friends her cousins Katherine Olsen and Trudy Olsen Williams who were so kind to her.

In lieu of flowers and in celebration of her life please send donations to Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity (www.dallasareahabitat.org), designate the donation in memory of “Patricia Rehberg for ABWK” (A Brush With Kindness fencing fund) or the Friends of Oil Creek State Park (www.friendsocasp.org) 305 State Park Rd, Oil City, Pa. 16301.

We are asking those who knew Patty to place fond memories and stories of her on the website at Morrison Funeral Home (morrisonhome.com).

A memorial service will be held at Hasson Heights Community Church at 21 Fairview Rd, Oil City, Pa. 16301 at 11:00AM on May 6, 2017.

Patty will be interred in the Lamey Cemetery on Route 428, Fosters Corner in Venango County.

John 16:22 So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
