Clarion County Election Results: Magrini Will Oppose Parker Kerr For Clarion Tax Collector

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — Here’s a look at some of the candidates that secured their party’s nominations in Tuesday’s Clarion County primary elections.

In Clarion Borough, Democrats Carla Magrini secured her party’s nomination for tax collector, claiming 101 votes to Jennifer Fulmer Vinson’s 74.

On the Republican side, Megan Parker Kerr beat Vickie Heck Duncan, easily, 130-75.

In Rimersburg, there were five candidates for four, four-year terms on the borough council. They included Mark Deeter, Michael Goughler, Daniel Stewart, Terry Stewart, and Scott Myers.

Myers led with 94 votes while Terry Stewart had 90, Daniel Stewart had 84 and Deeter had 82.

In Elk Township, there were three candidates for one six-year term for supervisor on the Republican ticket.

Gregory Clark led with 110 votes while John Knight Sr. had 52, and Steve Blair had 37.

In Paint Township, there were two Republican candidates running for a four-year term to be the tax collector and Karen Kahle won with 118 votes over Wayne Wright, who had 35.

In Richland Township, there were two Republicans running for a four-year term for tax collector – Jannie Landers Shirey and Elizabeth Linamen. Shirey won with 25 votes to Linamen’s 15.

In Toby Township, two men – Edward Barger and Alan Carmichael – ran on the Republican ballot for one six-year term for supervisor. Carmichael won 55-19.

In the Clarion-Limestone School District, there were four candidates running for two, four-year seats in Region II. They included Kathy Henry, Wesley J. Lander, Larry Jamison and David Schirmer. They cross-filed and were joined on the Republican ballot by Michael Ferguson.

Schirmer led with 76 votes while Henry was next with 63 on the Democratic side.

On the Republican side, Schimrer led with 183 votes and Henry had 119.

In Region I, two candidates cross-filed on both tickets for one, four-year term. Gary Sproul outpolled Ray Theiss, 81-43, on the Democratic side and 186-74 on the Republican.

In the Redbank Valley School District, in Region III, voters had three candidates, Linda Ferringer, Brian Dougherty, and Carrie Adams, to choose from on the Democratic side for two, four-year terms. Those three have cross-filed and are joined on the Republican ballot by Tina Kennemuth.

Ferringer led with 86 votes while Adams had 53 on the Democratic side.

On the Republican side, Ferringer had 214 and Adams had 171.

In A-C Valley School District, Region III, Kelly Terwilliger and Earl Barlett were running for one, four-year term. They cross-filed on both ballots.

Terwilliger garnered 39 votes while Barlett had 15 on the Democratic side. On the Republican ballot, Terwilliger collected 54 to Barlett’s 43.

In the Union School District, there were four candidates who cross-filed for a four-year term. They include Brade Guntrum, Jeff Shirey, Mark Rummel, and Adam Vogle.

On the Democratic ticket, Rummel led with 161 votes, edging Shirey’s 154, Vogle’s 152 and Guntrum’s 144.
