Camp Coffman to Host Free Family Day Today

zip line 2015CRANBERRY, Pa. – The Clarion County YMCA and Oil City YMCA have announced a Family Day Open House at YMCA Camp Coffman on Sunday, May 21 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Open House is open to the public, includes activities for the entire family and admission is free.

The Camp Coffman Open House will feature samples of activities that children get to experience at YMCA Summer Day Camp. Horseback riding, arts & crafts, paintball, archery, fishing, boating, games, and other activities are free.

Tickets for the climbing tower and zip-line will be available for purchase for $5.00 per ride.

Nicky’s BBQ Company will sell concessions, and The Meadows will sell three flavors of frozen custard, Italian Ice, and milkshakes. Proceeds from concession sales will benefit the YMCA.

YMCA Summer Day Camp is a unique experience in outdoor adventure, horseback riding, hiking, crafts and games, fishing, boating, field trips, and nature experiences for children age 6 to 12.

Summer Day Camp is held at 4072 Camp Coffman Road in Cranberry, PA.

Children are grouped by age and will make friends and create lifelong memories under the direction of awesome camp counselors who care about them and believe in their potential.

The Summer Day Camp program begins at 8:00 a.m. and lasts until 4:00 p.m. Extended care is available from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Transportation is provided from the Clarion County YMCA and Oil City YMCA.

Summer Day Camp fees are comparable to child care costs. YMCA Members pay just $115.00 for a five day week or $90.00 for a three day week. Non-member fees are $135.00 for a five day week and $110.00 for a three day week. Financial aid is available based on income. Extended care and transportation is included in the weekly fee.

Fun Summer Day Camp theme weeks include topics that will explore bugs, game shows, superheroes, the outdoors, dinosaurs, water, and drama. Field trips are held every Friday. This year campers will visit Seneca Lanes to go bowling, Two Mile Run County Park, Waldameer, Pymatuming, Asbury Woods, Pizza Hut, and The Rink.
