State Police Release Details on Monroe Township Rollover Crash

MONROE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police have released details on a rollover crash that occurred early Monday morning on State Route 68, in Monroe Township, Clarion County.

According to police, around 12:35 a.m. on May 22, 37-year-old Rhonda Bechtel, of Oil City, was driving a 2006 Ford Mustang east on Route 68 when she overcompensated a left-hand curve causing the car to turn sideways. It hit an embankment on the north side of the road, causing it to spin clockwise 180 degrees. The car continued traveling east and exited the south side of the road, hit a large boulder, became airborne and hit a speed limit sign, a utility pole, and a gas meter. It then over overturned and landed on its roof.

Bechtel was wearing a seat belt and wasn’t injured.

She was cited with a traffic violation.

Assisting at the scene were Sligo Volunteer Fire Department, Clarion Hospital, and Mark’s Auto.
