ST. MARYS, Pa. (EYT) — The District 9 Class 1A softball title is at stake when top-seeded Clarion takes on third-seeded Oswayo Valley, and you can listen live to all the action on the Laurel Eye Clinic District 9 Playoff Baseball Game of the Week at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 1, from Bewind Park in St. Marys.

The broadcast gets underway with the Kerle Tire Pregame Show starting at 4:15 p.m. with Chris Rossetti on the call. Game time, weather permitting, is set for 4:30 p.m.

This is the second time in three years the Bobcats and Green Wave have met in the title game. Two years ago, Oswayo Valley beat Clarion, 10-0 in six innings. OV is also making its third straight title-game appearance having lost to DuBois Central Catholic, 2-1, last year.
For Clarion, this is only the second time the Bobcats (18-2) have made it to the title contest.
Oswayo Valley (18-2) beat DuBois Central Catholic, 2-1, in the quarterfinals and Elk County Catholic, 3-1, in the semifinals to earn the berth, while Clarion topped North Clarion, 6-2, in the quarterfinals and District 10 champion Jamestown, 7-0, in the semifinals.
Both teams advance to the PIAA playoffs. The winner will face the third-place team out of the WPIAL, either Union-New Castle or Jefferson-Morgan (that game was being played Wednesday), while the loser will take on the second-place team out of District 5, which will be the loser of the D5 title game between Berlin Brothersvalley and the winner of Wednesday’s semifinal game between Meyersdale and Southern Fulton.
