Police: Summerville Man Flees Accident Scene in Oliver Township

OLIVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Summerville man fled the scene of an accident after he wrecked his vehicle in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 28.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 2:30 a.m. on May 28, Shawn Ford, 41, was driving a 2004 Chevy Silverado south on Mauk Hill Road in Oliver Township, Jefferson County, when he failed to negotiate a turn and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle struck an embankment and rolled onto its side.

Police said the Silverado was found on the driver’s side and that Ford had fled the scene by an unknown means and an unknown direction.

Ford was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

The Oliver Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Southside Towing removed the vehicle.
