The all-District 9 matchup was set up after the Bobcats, the District 9 runner-up, topped Berlin Brothersvalley, 4-3, Monday at Showers Field and ECC, the third-place team out of District 9, upset WPIAL champion Jeannette, 7-4, Tuesday in Latrobe.

The two teams are two of three District 9 teams left in the Class 1A field with Oswayo Valley, the D9 champion, also still playing. The Green Wave, an 8-3 winner over Union-New Castle, Tuesday, take on WPIAL runner-up Greensburg Central Catholic at 4 p.m. at Showers Field Thursday.

Meanwhile, Brookville is still alive in the Class 2A bracket with the Raiders taking on District 10 runner-up Saegertown at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Neshannock High School.

One District 9 softball team is also still alive, as DuBois Central Catholic will face District 10 champion Commodore Perry in the Class 1A quarterfinals at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hickory High School.
