Joria A. McLaughlin

Joria A. McLaughlin, 85, of 435 Bayard Street, Kane, died Thursday, June 8, 2017 peacefully at her residence, according to her wishes.

Born February 23, 1932 in Kane, she was the daughter of Guy E. and Mabel Malmstrom Chandler. In 1948 in Kane, she married Donald D. McLaughlin, who died in 1978.

Joria had worked at the former Holgate Toy Co., and, for several years, was a cook at the Lutheran Home at Kane. She enjoyed cooking and baking, eating desserts, calls from her grandchildren and being surrounded by family on her birthdays.

Surviving are four children, Allen (Patricia) McLaughlin, Marsha Jerman and Jacqueline (Rodney) Boschert, all of Kane, and Sandra (Dan) Cline of Windsor, Colo.; plus eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and cousins from Kane, Port Allegany and Ohio.

She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a sister Leatrice in infancy and her son in law, Steve Jerman.

As per her request, there will be no viewing, and a memorial service will be held privately for family.
