CLARION, Pa. — Clarion University has selected David Dollins as associate vice president of enrollment management. He will begin work in mid July.

Dollins most recently served as executive director of undergraduate admissions and orientation at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff. Under his leadership, NAU recently recruited and enrolled its sixth straight, record first-year class, representing growth of 41.5 percent since 2011, and is on pace for a seventh straight year of record enrollment.

Dollins said he will employ some of the same, best-practice strategies to grow Clarion’s enrollment. Among his plans are to increase student search efforts, be first in the mailbox, and “win on the visit” by demonstrating to visiting students and their families that they are priority one.

“I have relentless passion for customer service and student service,” he said. “It’s essential that we take care of the student and take care of the family, show that we really want them to choose Clarion.”

His first weeks on campus will be spent meeting with various departments at Clarion and Venango campuses to get a sense of how they’ve interfaced with the admissions and enrollment management teams, meeting with his staff in enrollment management to better understand their processes, and meeting with the leadership group to begin setting enrollment goals.

“We have to build upon our successes, and through refining our enrollment strategies, along with our service to prospective students and the campus community, we can strengthen our position in the marketplace to attract students to Clarion,” Dollins said.

Dollins is a Doctor of Education candidate (ABD) in educational leadership at NAU. He holds a Master of Science in college student personnel and a Bachelor of Science in journalism.

In his free time, he enjoys running, hiking, photography and watching college football.
