Woman Tries to Avoid Deer on SR-68, Crashes into Tree

MONROE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A local woman was rushed to the hospital after she attempted to miss a deer on the roadway and crashed into a tree Monday in Monroe Township, Clarion County.

Clarion-based State Police Tpr. Miles says the crash happened around 2:00 p.m. when Bridget C. Hopper, 42, of Templeton, attempted to apply her brakes after observing a deer on State Route 68 just west of 5 Point Road.

Hopper’s 2014 Dodge 2500 traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a large tree.

Southern Clarion County EMS transported Hopper to the Clarion Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Her vehicle, which sustained severe damage, was towed from the scene by Mark’s Auto.
