HICKORY TWP., Forest Co. (EYT) — State Police are investigating a June 12 fire that destroyed a residence in Forest County.

According to a report issued by Marienville-based State Police, the fire broke out around 9:45 a.m. at 112 Ballpark Lane in Hickory Township.

Construction workers on a job across the street from the residence discovered the fire.

State Police Fire Marshal David Powell examined the scene and determined the fire began in the rear of the home on the first floor in a room next to the kitchen.

The fire started in an area where the TV and other audio/visual equipment was located, but damage and collapse prevented a full examination of the electric components.

Damage is estimated at $85,000.

The residence was insured.

No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call Marienville State Police at 814-927-5253.
