PARKER, Pa. — Crews from Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) continue to battle effects from strong winds and heavy downpours that caused widespread power outages across its service territory.

As of this morning, 3500 members are still without power. A bulk of these (3,250 members) resulted from two substation outages in the Coal Hill (Venango County) and Starr (Forest County) areas. CEC anticipates both substations to be restored by mid morning and the remainder of its system by the end of the day.

Members should report outages by calling 1-800-282-8610. The cooperative thanks members for their patience during restoration efforts.

Remember to stay away from downed power lines and report them to your electric utility.

Central Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative serving approximately 25,000 members with over 3,000 miles of distribution line in portions of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Mercer, and Venango counties.

Members are invited to attend this year’s 80th Meeting of the Members on August 25 in Whitehall Camp & Conference Center.
