Knox Mayor Rich Cochran Still Considering November Run for Full Term

KNOX, Pa. (EYT) — Rich Cochran has all of the qualifications you would want for someone serving as mayor of a small town.

Cochran was selected by Knox Borough Council to serve the remainder of Frank Agnello’s term after the popular mayor suddenly died May 8, 2017. He serves as mayor until the end of the year, but he hasn’t decided if he will run a write-in campaign for a full four-year term in the November elections.

“Frank did a great job and left some big shoes to fill,” said Cochran. “I haven’t made up my mind yet because all of the things I’m already involved with and the time I spend.”

He is currently president of the Knox Fire Company, and he is president of the Keystone Football Boosters.  That alone would take up a lot of time, but he also has a full-time job at Structural Modular in Strattanville where he has worked for about 25 years.

His resume is excellent for the job of mayor. Along with his 33 years with the fire company, he also served on Knox Borough Council for 12 years.  Rich Cochran knows what goes on in Knox.

“My wife Gretchen is real supportive of this mayor’s position, and she is actually one of the people who talked me into it,” said Cochran.

The couple has two children and two grandchildren.
