SPONSORED: Quality, Service Are The Carpet Barn’s Hallmarks

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — It’s not easy standing out from the pack, but for The Carpet Barn, their service to their customers puts them on another level.

“Taking care of our customers is our first priority,” said co-owner Bud Wilshire. “We are proud of our selection of products, but pleasing our customers and making them happy makes us happy.”

“We try to put emphasis on service,” continued Wilshire. “We’re courteous and respectful to customers in their homes and in our store. We try to guide them to the flooring that will work best for them.”

Their “Red Carpet Treatment” includes a complementary vacuuming once the job is complete.

Free consultations and estimates are offered to customers who are looking for new ideas for their homes.

The Carpet Barn has been serving Clarion County and the surrounding areas for nearly 50 years. It was named the area’s “Best Carpet/Flooring Store” by the Leader-Vindicator.

When Jim Wilshire — who still works with his son, Bud, and his brother-in-law, Tom Shreffler — opened the first store in 1971, it was a barn on Merle Street near where they lived.

With steady growth, built on a rock-solid reputation of service, selection, and quality work, the business made a move from the original location to the former Coca-Cola building on Second Avenue in Clarion. In 1985, the business moved to its current South 5th Avenue location.

Last summer’s road construction, made doing business interesting for about six months.

“We really appreciate our customers’ patience,” Jim said. “After the (construction) work was done, we had the best fall, winter, and first quarter ever!”

Business has been so good, the Carpet Barn added a full-time employee recently — Jim Wise, of Kossuth.

Steve Fabry and Shane Kemmer round out the crew of experienced flooring professionals.

When it comes to selection, the Carpet Barn is without peer, as the business offers thousands of styles, colors, and textures of carpet, vinyl, hardwood, and laminate.

The Carpet Barn consistently updates its stock with items following the latest trends. This year, luxury vinyl tile and luxury vinyl plank continue to be very popular. Available in tile and wood visuals, these products click together for adhesive-free installation.

Although these types of flooring are attractive options because of the variety of styles and colors they come in, they also save the customer money on underlays and floor prep because they can be installed over many existing hard surface floors and subfloors.

The business also offer Mohawk hard-surface LVP click flooring, as well as products from Armstrong, Tarkett, and Shaw.

In 2016, they added two new lines of sheet vinyl, Cannington and Beauflor.

The Carpet Barn has Shaw’s LifeGuard available which is promoted as the first carpet that does not permit liquids to soak through the backing. They features a complete LifeGuard display and are the exclusive dealer in the area. They have five colors of LifeGuard carpet in stock, ready for pick-up or installation.

For the do-it-yourselfers, the Carpet Barn offers free padding with cash and carry in-stock carpet and remnant purchases.

Discounts are available for all cash and carry purchases.

The store is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. The store is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
