SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. – YMCA Summer Soccer is a program that over 300 area youth look forward to each summer at the Clarion County Park.
“It’s more than soccer,” said Branch Director Jesse Kelley. “It is a way for local kids to connect with friends over the long summer break and have fun. It’s great to see kids and parents enjoying time together at the park each week.”
The youth Summer Soccer Program will return to the Clarion County Park in July. The seven week program has been a popular summer sport for children in pre-k through 8th grade over the last decade.
The Summer Soccer Program focuses on learning soccer skills, teamwork and YMCA core values in a Christian environment where everyone plays regardless of ability.
The season begins July 15 and runs through August 26. Children will practice on weekdays and play games on Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Most games will be done by 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays. A mini tournament will be held on August 26 to conclude the season.
The cost of the program is $25.00 for members and $50.00 for non-members. A youth membership to the YMCA is just $12.00/month. All players will receive a YMCA Soccer T-shirt.
The YMCA has used cleats, shin guards, and socks for sale for $2.00 each, or you may swap a used pair for free. All children will need cleats, shin guards, sunblock, and a water bottle for games and practices.

The Clarion County YMCA hours are: Weekdays 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Clarion County YMCA is closed on Sundays during the summer.
