9-Year-Old Boy Dies After Falling into Mahoning Creek

ARMSTRONG CO., Pa. (EYT) — On Saturday afternoon, a nine-year-old Dayton boy died after he fell into a creek in Wayne Township, Armstrong County.

According to a published article on KDKA, around 1:00 p.m., the boy was fishing at the Sportsman’s Boat Launch along Mahoning Creek with his family.

Pa. State Police say that he was sitting on a boulder and possibly slipped and then fell into the water.

According to police, once he was located, life-saving measures were taken and then flown to Children’s Hospital.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No other information is available at the time.
