YMCA Offering Three Rowing Classes This Summer

CLARION, Pa. — Rowing has become a favorite at the Clarion County YMCA. So many people are interested in rowing that new classes have been added to accommodate more participants.

In July and August, the YMCA will offer these classes:

Intro to Rowing: Offered Monday 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. and Tuesday, 5:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This 45 minute class introduces you to the water rowers and teaches the basics of proper rowing technique. The focus is on form and fun. No experience is necessary. Bob MacKinlay is the instructor.

Indo-Row: Offered Monday 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – Blast away fat and strengthen your entire body. Burn calories while enjoying a fun interval workout in a uniquely motivating fitness environment. Duane Schmader is the instructor.

Row 45: Offered Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. – This class is for new and experienced Rowers. It offers a low impact, full body workout in an efficient 45 minute class. Burn calories while enjoying a fun interval workout set to music. Cindy Nave is the instructor.

Six rowers are available per class. Call ahead to reserve a rower at 814-764-3400.

Rowing can be purchased as part of the group exercise package for $15.00 per month for members, $50.00 a month for non-members or paid for by the session for $5.00.

Hours

The Clarion County YMCA hours are: Weekdays 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Clarion County YMCA is closed on Sundays during the summer.
