Emlenton Teen Crashes Car While Driving at High Rate of Speed

RICHLAND TWP, Pa. (EYT) — State Police say an Emlenton teen crashed his car on Airport Road, in Richland Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, the crash occurred around 2:15 p.m. on July 4 as a 2007 Honda Accord, driven by a 16-year-old Emlenton male, was traveling north on Airport Road, in Richland Township.

Police say the teen attempted to turn left onto West Home Road at a high rate of speed, while applying the brakes. The Honda traveled in a straight line, struck an embankment northwest of the intersection of Airport Road and West Home Road, and spin counterclockwise. It came to a final rest facing south in a ditch along the west side of Airport Road.

The teen was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.
