Rimersburg Man Drowns in Redbank Creek

LAWSONHAM, Pa. (EYT) — The body of a Rimersburg man was found in Redbank Creek late Monday morning.

According to Clarion County Coroner Terry Shaffer, 40-year-old Bruce Brown was separated from his party while was rafting on Redbank Creek Sunday.

“When they couldn’t find him last night, Clarion-based State Police was notified that he was missing,” said Shaffer.

A search of the area was conducted by various emergency personnel.

Around 11 a.m., New Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Company found Brown’s body along Redbank Creek near Lawsonham.

Shaffer pronounced Brown dead around 11:40 a.m.

The cause of death was drowning.
