Carol-Morrison-1500047092Carol Leigh Morrison, 79, died July 14, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born May 8, 1938 in Summerville, she was a daughter of the late Russell H. and Vivian Guthrie Fleeger.

She was a member of the Oil City High School Class of 1956.

In 2007, she retired as a physical therapy assistant from the former Presbyterian Home in Oil City where she began working shortly after it was built.

Mrs. Morrison was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Oil City.

Carol was active in two Red Hat groups, a Senior Singles group, and the Class of ’56. She loved crafts and crocheting and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

On June 30, 1978, she was married to Ralph W. Morrison, who preceded her in death on December 30, 1996.

She is survived by a son, Russell Gadley and his wife Paula of Easley, SC; four daughters, Vivian Todd and her husband William of Coal Hill, Janice Williams of Oil City, Beverly Weingard of Elizabethtown, and Stacey Griffin and her husband Michael of Oil City; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

She is also survived by a sister, Karen Greene and her husband John of Oil City; a brother-in-law, Elwood (Woody) Keith of Oil City; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce Fleeger and Mary Rupp, both of Oil City.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Milton (Bud) Fleeger, and a sister, Janet Keith.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Sunday, from 3 to 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 am.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family requests memorials be made to the Venango VNA Hospice or to Oakwood Heights.
