STAT MedEvacKINGSLEY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Marienville-based State Police say a motorcycle accident occurred late Saturday afternoon on State Route 666, east of Old Kellettville Road, in Kingsley Township, Forest County.

According to police, around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, a 2007 Yamaha, Model XVS1300CT, was traveling west on Route 666. The motorcycle was approximately 1/2 mile east of Branch Bridge Road when a deer jumped onto the roadway into its path.

The operator – 61-year-old William J. Fuhrman, of Erie – was unable to avoid a collision with the deer and struck it. The motorcycle slid on the roadway causing 34 feet of scratches on the road, police say.

Fuhrman and his passenger – 68-year-old Nancy K. Brown, of Erie – were flown from the scene by STAT MedEvac to Hamot Regional Medical Center in Erie.

Fuhrman suffered suspected minor injuries.

Brown suffered suspected serious injuries.

Neither occupant was using a helmet.

Tionesta Volunteer Fire Company, Tionesta EMS, Clarion County Emergency Services, Forest County Sheriff’s Office, and STAT MedEvac assisted at the scene.
