Clarion County Recipe of the Day: Sausage Manicotti
Serve this flavorful dish with a glass of Pinot Noir!
1 pound uncooked sausage
2 cups cottage cheese
1 – 8 oz. package manicotti shells
1 – 24 oz. jar marinara sauce
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
~In a large bowl, combine sausage and cottage cheese. Stuff into uncooked manicotti shells. Place in a greased 13×9-in. baking dish. Top with marinara sauce.
~Cover and bake at 350° for 55 to 60 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Bake eight to 10 minutes longer (or until cheese is melted).
~Let stand for five minutes before serving.
~Serve with garlic toast and a side salad!
~Makes seven servings.
