The Curve (50-48) closed back within two games of the first-place Baysox (53-47), avoiding a four-game sweep while snapping an eight-game losing streak in games played in Bowie.

Altoona jumped on the board in the second inning with an RBI double by Wyatt Mathisen, who scored on an RBI single by Pablo Reyes.

Jin-De Jhang added to the lead with the first of his two doubles in the game in the third and a two-run homer by Anderson Feliz stretched the Curve lead to 5-0.

The Baysox broke into the scoring column with a solo home run by Aderlin Rodriguez in the fifth inning, the only mark against J.T. Brubaker (Win, 5-4) on the day.

Brubaker allowed one run over six innings and struck out three. Brandon Cumpton allowed one run over two innings.

The Baysox closed within two runs in the ninth inning, but Tate Scioneaux stranded the tying run on first with a game-ending strikeout of Rodriguez.

Feliz went 2-for-4 on the day with two RBIs and a walk.

The Curve open a three-game series against the Reading Fightin Phils on Monday night. Right-hander Austin Coley (3-2, 3.10) will start on the mound for the Curve, opposed by Reading right-hander Tyler Viza (6-7, 6.03). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at FirstEnergy Stadium.
