Couple Busted for Meth in Piney Township

PINEY TWP., Pa. — Two individuals were arrested for possession of methamphetamine and related charges on Huckleberry Ridge Road, in Piney Township, Clarion County.

According to court documents, criminal charges were filed against 35-year-old Thomas Dean Kifer, of Curllsville, and 24-year-old Holly Renee Wells, of Rimersburg.

According to court documents, around 7:45 p.m. on July 15, Clarion-based State Police Trooper Allison was on patrol traveling east on State Route 68. He observed a white Hyundai traveling west on Route 68 driven by Thomas Dean Kifer and Holly Renee Wells as a right front passenger in Kifer’s vehicle. As Officer Allison was aware of an active felony arrest warrant for Wells, he turned the patrol vehicle around and conducted a traffic stop on Huckleberry Ridge Road in Piney Township.

The complaint states that when Wells exited the vehicle, there was an Energizer lithium battery in the front passenger seat area of the Hyundai. Wells indicated that Officer Allison “would probably find some needles and spoons in the car.”

It was also learned that Wells “recently purchased a precursor for the production of methamphetamine.”

According to the complaint, Wells stated that she and Kifer “had tried to ‘hit’ some suboxone earlier in the day but could not find a good vein.”

Officer Allison observed multiple sores on Kifer’s arms and legs and his muscle tone appeared rigid, and he spoke with a low raspy voice, the complaint states.

A sixteen-year-old male juvenile was seated in the right rear of the vehicle, the complaint continues.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, the following items were seized as evidence:

– Unopened box of Allergy and Congestion Relief D and receipt for same located in a Walmart bag under the right front seat. No other items were purchased on this receipt.
– Energizer lithium battery located on the right front seat.
– Zippo Butane Fuel located in the center console.
– Six empty plastic baggies commonly used for packaging methamphetamine in Wells’ bag.
– A metal spoon containing residue located in Wells’ bag.
– Green plastic pill container with coffee filter containing methamphetamine in Wells’ bag (NIK tested)
– Blue and white pouch containing metal spoon, tweezers, and crushed pills (suspected suboxone).

The complaint states that Kifer was taken into custody and transported to the Clarion Hospital for blood tests. Laboratory blood results indicated that Kifer’s blood contained amphetamine, methamphetamine, and THC.

Wells was arraigned at 12:12 p.m. on August 1 in Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller’s office on the following charges:
