Jury Finds Man Not Guilty of Raping Child in Walmart Parking Lot

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — A South Carolina man accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in the Clarion Walmart parking lot last year was found not guilty of all charges in the Clarion County Court of Common Pleas.

According to court documents, 24-year-old Tyler Patrick Travers, of Cowpens, South Carolina, faced a jury trial on Wednesday, August 2.

He was found not guilty of the following charges:

– Rape of Child, Felony 1
– Statutory Sexual Assault: 8-11 Years Older, Felony 2
– Corruption Of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
– Indecent Assault Person Less than 13 Years of Age, Misdemeanor 1

Travers’s attorney, Michael Bogush, said he felt the jury reached the correct verdict.

“I felt they were very attentive and made the appropriate decision,” Bogush said. “Now, I believe everybody can get on with their lives.”

Bogush added that he believed the evidence proved his client’s innocence, and he didn’t want to put himself into the prosecution’s realm in terms of how the charges were filed.
