HAWTHORN, Pa. (EYT) — Julie Evans has been removed from her position as the longtime secretary and treasurer of the Clarion County Fair Board.

“I’m not allowed to say anything,” Evans told exploreClarion.com on Monday. “I don’t know what they are doing, but I know I’ve given my heart and soul to the fair for 32 years.”

“I have several people who will vouch for the work I’ve done for the fair,” Evans said. “Thirty-years of dedication I’ve given.”

“Someone wants my job,” Evans said. “But I have nothing bad to say about anyone.”

Evans said she received a letter from Clarion County Fair Board President Josh Minich indicating she had been removed from the position.

She declined to provide a copy of the letter to exploreClarion.com.

Acting Fair Board secretary/treasurer Marlene Hartzell deferred to the Fair Board’s counsel, William Hager III, of New Bethlehem.

Hager said, ethically, he couldn’t comment on Evan’s dismissal at this time.

Calls to two other fair board members were not immediately returned.
