CRAWFORD COUNTY, Pa. — Nighttime lane closures will be in effect on Interstate 79 in Crawford County starting August 21.
Both lanes of northbound traffic will be closed from 7 PM to 7 AM August 21, 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29, weather permitting. The closures will be in effect from Exit 141 to Exit 147.
A detour will be posted using Route 285 (Exit 141), Route 19, and Route 322.
Northbound traffic will be restricted to a single lane during the hours in which the nighttime closures are not in effect.
The nighttime closures are required in order for concrete to be placed in the deck of the bridge that carries northbound I-79 traffic over the Conneaut Swamp in Greenwood Township, Crawford County.
The work is part of a $11.3 million project to rehabilitate the 3,600-foot-long twin bridges. Construction during 2017 will focus on the bridge that carries northbound traffic and is scheduled to be completed by November 2017. Work on the southbound bridge is scheduled for 2018.
