Connie Borland

8997359_300x300_1Connie Borland, 70, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in Fort Wayne.

Connie began her life journey on August 24, 1946. Connie graduated from Franklin High School on June 10, 1964. Connie worked at Joy Manufacturing until she got married to Walter Gregory Borland. They were married on April 8, 1967 and stayed happily married for these past 50 years.

Connie was a fantastic mother, wife, grandmother, and friend to everybody that knew her. She would even strike up conversations with complete strangers anytime, anywhere; so like her grandson Nathan used to say, “she’s back at it again.” Connie had a great attitude and never let anything get her down, or at least she didn’t show it. Connie survived breast cancer, open heart surgery, and other various health concerns over these past five years, but never complained about any of it. Matter of fact, playing Words with Friends online was one of her favorite past-times, and even though she would lose about 90% of the time, she still had 10 games in progress. Connie loved playing Bridge throughout the week and enjoyed the lifetime connections she made along the way. She loved being with her family and cherished every moment she could provide a helping hand to her kids and grandkids, even though at times she would get frustrated, but once again, never complained about being our superhero, no matter how old we were. Even when Connie wasn’t feeling healthy, she would still try to cook and clean as much as she could instead of resting. Connie will be forever missed, but never forgotten. Heaven may have gained another angel today, but in our book she was already one. Connie was the best mom, wife, grandmother, and friend anybody could ask for, so rest in peace until our family is reunited up above. Our family knows that you will be looking down and checking in on us from time to time.

Connie was preceded in death by father, Ron Butler; mother, Beatrice Butler; and brother, Tim Butler. Connie is survived by her husband, Walter Gregory Borland; daughter, Michele Croft; son’s Scott, Shawn, and Jeffrey Borland; grandkids, Brooke and Ryan Croft, Jacob and Nathaniel Borland; and brother, Mark Butler.
