CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — Paving in the borough of Clarion has been postponed to a yet to be determined date.

Glenn O. Hawbaker was originally scheduled to pave four borough streets August 4-5, but the weather on August 4 delayed the project according to borough secretary Linda LaVan.

LaVan said there had been some hope that the project could be completed August 11-12, but Hawbaker had a scheduling conflict she believed.

The roads that will be closed because of the paving are Merle Road from Fifth Street to Seventh Street, Fourth Avenue from Wood Street to South Street, South Street from Jefferson to Fifth Avenue and University Manor from Gemmell to Bond.

Last week, the borough asked that residents remove vehicles from the roads to assist during the project, and no one will be permitted to drive on the roadways until barricades have been removed.

“At this point, we don’t have a definite date,” LaVan said. “As soon as we have one we will let people know.”
