Police Investigate Truck Crash on Route 322 in Clarion Township
According to police, around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, a 2006 Peterbilt was traveling west in the westbound lane of Route 322 at its intersection with Day City Road. The vehicle traveled across the westbound lane shoulder onto the berm and struck a telephone pole. The vehicle traveled back onto the westbound lane and then traveled across the westbound shoulder again and onto the berm for approximately 200 feet before returning to the roadway. The vehicle continued to travel for approximately one mile before coming to a final rest on the westbound shoulder facing west.
Through the investigation, it was determined that the operator was having a medical emergency at the time of the crash, police say.
He was using a seat belt and was not injured.
The name of the operator was not released.
