Tri-County Animal Rescue Center to Host International Homeless Animals Day on August 19
The event begins at 3:00 p.m. with Kiera Vinson singing the National Anthem.
Members of the community can bring their pets to the park for a pet parade and pet games at 4:00 p.m.
There will be educational speakers, a luminary ceremony, and raffles to help raise money for the shelter.
Debbie Stephens, secretary at the rescue center, said more than 100 people came to last year’s event.
“We hope many more people come than we’ve seen in the past. We really want to see it grow,” Stephens said. “We hope many people will come out to have fun while donating.”
Speakers from the Humane Pennsylvania Political Action Committee, Safe Haven Small Breed Rescue in Tionesta, and Happily Ever After, a pit bull rescue in Sligo, will speak on a variety of topics in the afternoon.
Following the speakers, Animal Advocate Awards will be presented to organizations and individuals in the community.
