CLARION, Pa. — After being postponed two weeks ago because of weather, the paving project in Clarion Borough is now slated for Aug. 16 and 17.

According to Borough Secretary Linda LaVan, the project will start at 5:30 a.m. Aug. 16 and continue until it is completed.

Parts of four roads — Merle Road from Fifth Street to Seventh Street, Fourth Avenue from Wood Street to South Street, South Street from Jefferson to Fifth Avenue and University Manor from Gemmell to Bond — will be paved.

“We are asking people to remove vehicles from these areas to assist us during the project,” LaVan said. “No one will be permitted to drive on the roadway until the barricades are removed.”

The Aug. 16-17 dates are weather permitting. The paving is being completed by Glenn O. Hawbaker.
