SADIE RUDESYLE — SENIOR — CLARION
Daughter of: Jeff & Dana Rudesyle
Sports Played: Basketball and Softball
2016-17 Highlights: Once again Sadie played a key role in the circle for the Lady Cats softball team helping Clarion reach the District 9 Class 1A semifinals. In 16 games covering 82 innings of work, she had a 3.93 ERA with 63 strikeouts vs. 30 walks. She was 6-9. At the plate, she hit .222 but with a .359 on-base percentage. She had five doubles, three triples and a home run among her 14 hits while scoring 18 runs and driving in 16. In basketball, she played in all 22 games for Clarion and scored 48 points including a season-high seven points in the season finale vs. Clarion-Limestone.
Post-High School Goals: Sadie plans to attend college but does not plan on playing sports when she does.
Q&A With Sadie Rudesyle
D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in?
SR: Softball
D9: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
SR: Sophomore year of softball when we won the second round of playoffs to take us to districts.
D9: Why do you play high school sports?
SR: It’s such a great way to make new friends from not only my school, but others too. I make so many new memories and learn so many new skills.
D9: Is there a high school player on your team or another team that you enjoy watching play? If so, why?
SR: Kennedy DeMatteis (Moniteau). She makes pitching look so effortless.
D9: When not playing sports I would rather (pick one) — Go to work, play video games, shop, hang out with friends, play pickup sports, go the movies
SR: Go hang out with friends
D9: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
SR: Florence, Italy. I love traveling and the architecture there is beautiful.
D9: Who has had the most influence on you as a person?
SR: Randy Reynolds, he has shown me how to look at the positives when all I can see are the negatives. He has taught me so much about batting.
D9: What do you like most about growing up in your hometown?
SR: Clarion is very school spirited. It’s such a friendly town. You can get along with everyone and the fall is the best time of the year because of ALF.
D9: What do you wish you could change about growing up in your hometown?
SR: That is was bigger, sometimes it gets a little boring and it’s difficult to find something to do.
D9: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
SR: What are some hobbies I have outside of sports? Marching band, concert band, honors band, art and listening to a lot of music!
D9: Do you or have you had any siblings or other immediate relatives who have played high school sports?
SR: My older sister, Madison Rudesyle. Also my cousin, Carly Best.
