Local Kids Help Knox Police Search for ‘Bad Guys’

KNOX, Pa. (EYT) — Nick and Rachel Bashline started hiding painted rocks around the Knox area to get kids outside and more involved in the community.

Soon, the Knox Borough Police Department became involved, and the popularity of the “Knox Rocks PA” program was quickly on the rise.

When Chief of Police Jason Bowen heard about “Knox Rocks PA,” he invited the group to have an event at the police department.

The group’s rising popularity was evident by the turnout at “Rock Out With Knox Borough Police” on Monday evening.

More than 50 people showed up at the event, surprising everyone.

“It’s like an ongoing Easter Egg Hunt,” Rachel Bashline said. “It’s something fun for the kids to do.”

Chief Bowen and Patrolman Joab Orr were among those in attendance.

“I was impressed with the turnout we had. It was so nice to see everyone coming together for this,” Chief Bowen said.
