Meet Mr. Wright: Forest Area School District Introduces New Phys Ed Teacher

FOREST CO., Pa. — The Forest Area School District is pleased to introduce Mr. Michael Wright.

Mr. Wright will be taking on the responsibilities of elementary physical education in both the East and West Forest buildings. He comes to the district with 11 years of experience in education.

Mr. Wright received a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from West Liberty University in West Virginia in 2006. His first teaching experience was in the Forest Area School District where he filled a long-term Health and PE substitute position during the 2006-2007 school year.

From 2007 to 2012, Mr. Wright taught in the Warren County School District as a substitute for Health and PE and also served four years as a permanent special education teacher.

After moving to Erie in 2012, Mr. Wright served as a Child Care Director for the YMCAs of Greater Erie for five years.

During the 2016-2017 school year, he taught special education at East High in the Erie School District.

Mr. Wright lives with his wife, Kelly and three children, Cayden, Kya, and Delany.

He enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, kayaking, bike riding, and watching football.
