Clarion Community Theatre to Present ‘Arlene’s Beauty World’ Beginning August 31

COOKSBURG, Pa. — The Clarion Community Theater group will return to the Verna Leith Sawmill Theatre with a live production of “Arlene’s Beauty World” from Thursday, August 31, to Saturday, September 2.

The show will be presented again on Thursday, September 7, through Saturday, September 9.

All shows begin at 8:00 p.m.

This play is a comedic journey with some serious police officers, crazy little old ladies, and a love struck man. Add in a jealous hairdresser looking to steal a super secret formula and an exploding fruit cake, and you’ve got a recipe for laugh-out-loud fun.

All shows are $15.00 per seat. Tickets are available online at www.sawmill.org or by calling the theatre’s box office at 814-927-5275.

Following “Arlene’s Beauty World,” Halloween will come early to the Sawmill Theatre. Two more weeks of shows have been added, featuring the Broadway-trained talent of Enchante Cabaret. They will perform “Witches’ Brew” September 14 to 16 and again September 21 to 23. This musical production takes you to a far-off place where a witch has nearly formulated a spell that would make every day dark and Halloween night eternal. The only thing standing in her way are three lost souls and an exiled warlock. The show is fully loaded with 20 show tunes, costumes, full makeup, and magic spells.

The Verna Leith Sawmill Theatre is part of the Sawmill Center for the Arts, a non-profit organization dedicated to instructing, preserving and honoring the arts. Located at 140 Theatre Lane in Cook Forest State Park.

The center also offers unique festivals and a bountiful craft market, full of one-of-a-kind handcrafted items.
