No Injuries Reported After Portion of Building Wall Collapses in New Bethlehem

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (EYT) — A portion of a building collapsed in the 200 block of Broad Street in New Bethlehem late Wednesday morning.

Around 11:00 a.m., the upper portion of the west wall of a two-story commercial building located at 237 Broad Street collapsed into a walkway adjacent to the structure.

According to New Bethlehem Borough Police Chief Scott Ryan, the building’s owners were aware of some structural weaknesses and had an engineer on site to study the structure Tuesday.

There was no damage to the adjacent building and no injuries were reported as a result of the collapse.

Cleanup efforts are underway.
