JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) — A Jefferson County man is accused of several Megan’s Law violations including identity theft.

According to court documents, Punxsutawney-based State Police filed criminal charges against 72-year-old Michael Leonard Lellock, of Punxsutawney.

On Wednesday, August 23, State Police learned that Lellock allegedly used the information of a Punxsutawney resident to buy a cell phone.

On Thursday, August 24, police observed Lellock getting a package. Then, they served several search warrants on Lellock’s residence and vehicle.

Police say the cell phone was found along with numerous documents, credit applications, bank statement, shipping labels, and other items police believe were stolen.

Also, police examined Lellock’s computer. They discovered he had used three email accounts which he had not listed on his Megan’s Law registration form, according to police.

He was charged with the following offenses at a preliminary hearing on August 24 in Judge Gregory M. Bazylak’s office:

– Failure to Provide Accurate Registration Information (3 counts), Felony 1
– Failure to Register With Pa. State Police (3 counts), Felony 2
– Failure to Verify Address/Be Photographed (3 counts), Felony 2
– Access Device Issued to Another Who Did Not Authorize Use, Felony 3
– Identity Theft, Misdemeanor 1
– Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 1

Unable to post $250,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

On August 25, his case was transferred to the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas.

State Police were assisted by Jefferson County District Attorney Jeff Burkett.
