Penn State’s Allen Named Lott IMPACT Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State senior safety Marcus Allen was selected as the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week after his performance against Pitt.

Penn State will receive $1,000 for its general scholarship fund in recognition of Allen’s performance.

Allen had a game-high 12 tackles, including the stop in the end zone for Penn State’s first safety since 2010. He also registered on pass breakup. Of Allen’s 12 stops, nine were solo tackles. He had his eighth career game with 10 or more tackles. With 264 career tackles, Allen moved into 11th place in Penn State’s career tackles chart.

The fifth-ranked Nittany Lions host Georgia State for the first time Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network as the finale of a three-game non-conference home stand to open the season.
