Two Injured in Route 66 Crash

LIMESTONE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, a two-vehicle accident occurred Saturday afternoon on State Route 66, in Limestone Township, Clarion County.

Police say the crash happened around 3:57 p.m. on September 16 at the intersection of Route 66 and East Reidsburg Road and Spruce Road; it involved 28-year-old Garrick E. McCullough, of Pleasant Gap, Pa., and 79-year-old Ronald L. Rearick, of Frewsburg, NY.

A 1993 Mazda Miata MX-5, driven by McCullough, was traveling north on Route 66 approaching E. Reidsburg Road and Spruce Road intersection. A vehicle was stopped on Route 66 to turn left onto East Reidsburg Road which caused northbound traffic to slow down and come to a stop, police say.

According to police, Rearick’s 2018 Chevrolet Equinox was at a stop, and McCullough’s vehicle impacted it.

McCullough was not injured.

Rearick and his passenger — 80-year-old Maynard J. Wagner, of Ashville, NY — were not injured.

Two other passengers in Rearick’s vehicle — 77-year-old Norma J. Wagner, of Ashville, NY, and Ora L. Rearick, of Frewsburg, NY — suffered possible injuries and were transported to the Clarion Hospital.

All occupants were using seat belts.

McCullough was charged with a traffic violation.

Clarion EMS and Limestone Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
