Clarion Man Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Greenville Pike

CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A two-vehicle crash occurred on Friday night on Route 66 (Greenville Pike), in Clarion Township.

According to Clarion-based State Police, 67-year-old Frank R. Bouch, of Clarion, and 34-year-old Charles E. Guyton-Baran, of Oil City, were involved in the collision.

Police say around 8:10 p.m. on Friday, September 22, a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Bouch, was traveling south on Route 66 and struck a deer that had entered its travel lane. The pickup struck the deer with its front end, causing the deer to travel into the northbound travel lane of Greenville Pike.

A 1996 Honda Accord, driven by Guyton-Baran, was traveling north just prior to the pickup’s impact with deer, and the deer entered the Honda’s path of travel, causing the car to travel over the top of the deer. The deer struck the undercarriage of the Honda and became wedged between the car and the roadway.

The Silverado came to a final rest facing south on the northbound shoulder of the roadway.

The Honda came to a final rest facing north in the northbound lane.

Bouch suffered suspected minor injuries.

Guyton-Baran was not injured.

Both drivers were using seat belts.
