MADISON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Two individuals were seriously injured in an ATV crash that occurred on Saturday night on Sarah Furnace Road, in Madison Township, Clarion County.

Clarion-based State Police say around 9:21 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 34-year-old Andrew J. Geiger, of Utica — was traveling east on Sarah Furnace Road on a 2017 570 Sportsman and negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway at a high rate of speed. At this time, Geiger lost control of the ATV and began to skid counterclockwise. He drove the vehicle off the right side of the roadway into the embankment. The ATV rolled onto its right side in an inverted position. Subsequently, the ATV ended back on its wheels and came to a final rest facing northeast.

Geiger was air-lifted to Allegheny General Hospital and was treated for suspected serious injuries.

Geiger’s passenger — 34-year-old Jennifer L. Geiger, of Utica — was transported to the Clarion Emergency Room where she was also treated for suspected serious injuries.

The ATV sustained damage to the front wheel well, along the front fender, and headlights. It was inoperable and was towed from the scene.

Rimersburg Fire Department, Southern Clarion County EMS, and Allegheny General Hospital assisted at the scene.
