Clarion Boys’ Cross Country Wins KSAC Championship for First Time in School History

In a tri-meet with Clarion-Limestone, the Bobcats took six of the top seven spots with only C-L’s Andrew Forrest (3rd place; 18:27) keeping the top seven from being a clean sweep for Clarion.
Nathaniel Lerch led the way for Clarion winning the race in a time of 17:54 followed by teammate Nick Schill (18:24). Also for the Bobcats, Frank Weber was fourth (19:02), Don Cunningham was fifth (19:07), Noah Schill was sixth (19:13) and Daniel Ketner was seventh (19:20).
North Clarion’s top runner was Josh Homan in eighth (19:24) but Clarion grabbed the next two spots as well with Jacob Smith taking ninth (20:14) and Nate Datko 10th (20:41).
Jacob Kaltenbach was 11th for North Clarion with Wyatt Troup taking 12th and Cody Rusiewicz 13th.
Braden Rankin was the next C-L runner finishing 14th. The Lions didn’t have enough runners to score.
The varsity girls’ race only saw eight runners so no team scores were available.
Clarion’s Katie Craig won the race in a time of 22:43 followed by North Clarion’s Haley Bauer (22:59), Rachel Bauer, and Addison Shaftic.
C-L’s top runner was Hannan Rittenhouse in fifth.
Clarion edged North Clarion, 27-28, in the junior high girls’ race with Evelyn Lerch (14:08) and Isabella Scott (15:07) taking the first two spots in the race for the Lady Cats.
C-L Jessica McCracken was third (15:42) followed by North Clarion’s Kylie Disney (16:03), Claire Kriebel (16:10), Jordyn Hendricks (16:12), and Kayla Aaron (16:14).
Clarion’s Gavin Hoover won the junior high boys’ race in a time of 13:50 followed by C-L’s Cody Whitling (13:57) and North Clarion’s Braden Custer (14:05).
