Emlenton Man Killed After Being Thrown from Motorcycle
According to Clarion-based State Police, around 3:33 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 62-year-old Robert W. Makuch, of Emlenton, was traveling east on Route 58, west of Landers Lane, and lost control of his 2008 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic. The motorcycle was laid over and began to slide into the lane of a 2013 Ford Focus, driven by 21-year-old Gaberiel A. Linamen, of Turkey City.
As the motorcycle slid into the westbound lane, Makuch became separated from it. The undercarriage of the motorcycle struck the Ford and then flipped into the northern embankment.
The Ford came to a controlled stop approximately 90 feet from the point of impact.
Makuch was not wearing a proper helmet, according to police.
Emlenton EMS transported Makuch to Clarion Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 5:20 p.m. by Clarion County Deputy Coroner Randall Stom.
Knox Ambulance transported Linamen to Clarion Hospital for suspected minor injuries. She was using a seat belt.
