Reward Offered for Man Accused of Raping, Killing Infant

CONNEAUT, Ohio (EYT) — A man with western Pennsylvania connections is being sought by Ohio authorities for the rape and murder of a 13-month-old baby girl.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of 37-year-old Joshua Dale Gurto, who police believe is the boyfriend of the girl’s mother. Conneaut County law enforcement officials have issued a warrant for Gurto’s arrest.

The baby, Sereniti Jazzlynn-Sky Blankenship-Sutley, died after she was found October 7 with blunt force trauma to the head and body. The baby was buried on Monday.

According to various news accounts, Gurto was seen twice on Friday, October 13, at a GetGo convenience store in Girard, Erie County, Pa.

Gurto is described as being 5-feet-10-inches tall and weighing 145 pounds. He has a deformed right ear and a misaligned jaw. He has tattoos on his right forearm.

Gurto has ties to Ashtabula County, Ohio, and western Pennsylvania.
