FOREST CO., Pa. (EYT) — Area youth between the ages of 12 to 18 have the opportunity to join the Forest County 4-H Teen Council.

The club acts as a bridge that connects 4-H members throughout the county with the Penn State Extension office and the community.

“The council provides older youth the opportunity to build leadership skills and put them into practice,” said 4-H Extension Educator Jennifer Grooms.

Grooms said the club’s activities include working on community service projects and developing programs for the younger 4-H audience.

Forest County 4-H Teen Council’s next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 26, at 6:00 p.m. at the Mount Zion Lutheran Church on German Hill Road, Tionesta, Pa.

For more information about the Forest County 4-H Teen Council or the 4-H program in general, contact Jennifer Grooms at 814-755-3544.

The 4-H program is a youth development program of Penn State Cooperative Extension. It is open to all youth between the ages of eight and 18, without regard to ancestry, color, disability or handicap, national origin, race, religious creed, sex, sexual orientation, or place of residence.
