She is the third Golden Eagle to win the award this year, joining Olivia Olson and Julia Holden.

Braunagel led the Golden Eagles to a perfect 3-0 week in conference play last week, helping them to a 3-1 win over IUP and 3-2 wins over Slippery Rock and Edinboro. She led the team with a 4.14 kills per set average, including a 29-kill performance against Edinboro on Saturday. That was the highest kills total for a Golden Eagle player since Melanie Bull notched 30 kills 14 years to the day before, during the 2003 season. Braunagel finished with two kill-dig double-doubles last week, starting with a 19-kill, 20-dig performance against the Rock. She also hit .261 in the match, the team-high for all players with more than 10 attempts. On Saturday against the Fighting Scots, she went off for 29 kills, a .205 hitting percentage, and 16 digs.

With her strong weekend, Braunagel moved into sole possession of fourth place on the all-time kills list at Clarion with 1,393.
