The County of Venango is currently accepting applications for a full-time (40 hrs. per week) Assistant Public Defender to work within the Venango County Public Defender’s Office.

Qualifications: Must possess Juris Doctorate degree and be licensed and admitted to Pennsylvania Bar.

No experience is required; however, Public Defender internship or similar experience is preferred.

Must pass pre-employment drug screening.

Must work in conjunction with employer to apply for Act 34 PA State Police Criminal History, Act 151 PA Child Abuse and FBI clearances prior to employment.

All clearances must reflect acceptable results.

Starting rate: $43,012.00/yr.

Includes participation in lifetime pension program and paid medical, dental, vision and life benefits for the employee.
